Micro USB? Come on man
Can I add my favorite websites to your device?
I think this would be awesome if you could flash it to an old phone and enable voice or build like a close circuit AI or Siri.
10:20 ...Did you really just say "Fanny Pack"?
how much is the cyber deck?
This is awesome but the name "pocket" is the worst possible branding decision if you're going to sell this. Generic object names are super forgettable and can be extremely difficult to optimize for SEO.
To be honest. KIWIX is a domain filled with free downloads, and the PCB/Computer is a Raspberry Pi, why should anyone pay YOU 300 USD, for a box with 100 dollar hardware and an microSD card that could be corrupted by just touching the sprint mechanism. I actually get a bit irritated at the thought of people creating stuff like this and then ask for money. If you really want people to survive; you create an HOW TO, rather then monopolize on something. Greedy is what it is. Make a Recipe and add a donation button that follows along the guide, and let people put the stuff together themselves. Since IOT devices are simple to use and cheap, their basically something that anyone can handle, and they have either USB-C or MicroUSB that needs around 5v in order to function. The box. . . Is that a faraday cage or just something to protect the unprotectable from getting wet?

Do you have any plans to, I don't know. . . Maybe create a docker that holds all of the info that you have on the pocket? That way one could install that on a computer or phone and have access in the same way. Also, sunflowers. Plant sunflowers after a nuclear fallout or in an area with high radioactive contents, the soil becomes cleaner. I have no Idea if I would want to touch the sunflowers afterwards though, but it's a way in order to not get radioactive tomatoes or whatever. I don't know how much you need to plant though or how long it takes before you can use the soil for actual food though.
does it have an sd car sloy for extra storage?
Is there going to be a version two of this coming with a llm like ollama to interface with?
This should be open source!
It is. Kiwix.
wow!!!!
I want one........ Ideas for 2.0 make the battery changeable. maybe with a 18650
What about Entertainment?
where can a get that keyboard and the file to print the display bezel? I already have a failed attempt at building this several years ago in the same box!
You can build yourself for 0$
Does this wifi gadget work indefinelty? Does it stop working at 300 gbs
Can you add any other info to it? Or update it year after year? Got one either way any info is good in our 1984 world
Would love to see a small ai inside of it so that you can have search quirries with the information provided
It would be cool if you had an ai fed all this information and you can search through all of it with a simple question
So you share kiwix libraries, what else is shared on the device?
Would you consider customizing the Pocket? Or is it just fixed as is?
This is basically a pwnagotchi, just with a different firmware setup. If we already own the hardware, and just need the sd card, is that available separately?
Kiwix.
lol agreed.
So can you use this to host a mumble server and connect raspberry pi's to them and connect the raspberry pis to a push to talk system? How much range could you get out of that system?
Depends on terrain and Line of Sight.
@@gridbasedotnet Lets say dense pnw forests?
i just found you. i hope all is well, are you still differing this product?
Differing?
@@gridbasedotnet I'm sure "offering" was intended.
Yes I am! Please visit the website
You wrote no code. This is all download and install crap. Fake, boring, and a fan of CP. Have fun wasting all that money for something that will not happen.
This is a literal Garden of Eden Creation Kit
Would looooove the 'dinosaur jumping a cactus' offline game...
Why there is nothing about Islam?
Is it possible to download just the files onto a flashdrive?
Does the cyber deck have HF transmit capabilities? if not it would be cool to integrate a QRP radio to use modes like ARPS and JS8call
Dude.....where can I get that mini paddle? :O
Where did you get that key or did you make it yourself?
This ain't security by obscurity at all, anyone can recognise that as a signal, record it and decode it. What you want to do is share a white noise recording, then hide a signal in the white noise recording, but it still just sounds like noise unless you compare it to the original recording. Now that would be security through obscurity, also why not encrypt it while you're at it.
My man plays darude sandstorm
Let me guess, "send nudes"
my musically trained brain can only hear rhythm 😭
dl9tu de dl7hh By the way, what's the name for that audio dongle? I assume that little thing produces telegraphy audio for the mic input?
I challenge you to encrypt a message on the fly by hand using XOR.
You do realize that a lot of radio is being recorded and researched for national security reasons. Very easy for software to decode this live/from-recording without any human required. Non the less it's great to see this being done on that device. Been looking for a portable keyer like this myself.
Oh snap, I didn't even realize just how automated this is, it's pre-cut dots and dashes on each switch?! 👀 Does it have a buffer if you get too fast?
It's also much easier to use over longer distances because of the binary nature of it. It's making a square wave with no modulation. It's the absolute peak transmission power, and easier to decipher on the other end vs voice at the extreme range. Not to mention you can use a spark gap and actually push some decent output in an absolute emergency.
The fifth character being transmitted is six dits or (dots). That’s not Morse code.
There is some time invested into this build. Good job. I am not looking to buy one at this time but if I had the extra cash I totally would. I might have missed it but what are you using for data storage in this unit? NVMe?
SSD. For its adaptability, durability, and COTS friendliness.
@@gridbasedotnet i agree. Ssd is the best choice. Great work.
Most people can't read smoke signals either what's your point 😂
Does it have, or is there a way to add the Radio Reference frequency database?
If you have a static webpage you can transform it into a zim archive that you can add to the device.
With a piece of hardware that's almost as cheap as that radio or free app anyone can decipher Morse code.
What make/brand cw keyer is that?
